NaPoWriMo 2015 Day 11

On the 11th day at the 11th hour - I looked at the clock when I started to write and the time was 11:11.......

They say it's magical eleven, eleven
It means someone is nearby from heaven
In that moment peace is found
You can feel a presence all around
So just be still and not afraid
The love you feel never fades

NaPoWriMo 2015 Day 10

 It's National Sibling Day! We have been lucky and truly blessed. It was hard to choose one picture.  These are a few that have taken us through our life's journey.

Don is the oldest,
the serious one

Jim is so laid back
and he's lot's of fun

Barbara's a nurse,
a great mother and wife.

Mary is loving
so caring of life

Then there's the baby
and yes that's me

So lucky we are
my family!

NaPoWriMo 2015 Day 9

The rain sings gently

While I stare at a blank page

It helps not at all

NaPoWriMo 2015 Day 8

A seven - seven poem
seven lines seven words per line....

Is it true diamonds rain on Saturn

And does it really matter to us

Saturn is quite out of our reach

Yet it keeps us up at night

Pondering and thinking can it be real

Wondering and asking the question once again

Is it true diamonds rain on Saturn

NaPoWriMo 2015 Day 7

The last day of another year for me.....

I never see it happen
then it rolls around again
another year is over
or two or five or ten

I really don't feel different
another year's gone by
so many, many things I did
and boy time sure does fly

I'm grateful for all I have
my life, family and friends
tomorrow a new year begins
and now this one ends

NaPoWriMo 2015 Day 6

Easter break is over and my Catholic guilt tells me I should write a make-up poem.  So here is today's poem and a little Haiku.

Awaken the woods, the flowers the trees
The birds are coming home
Bring back the sunlight and longer days
The air is getting warm

I sing in the morning and dance in the night
My smile lasts all day
I say to the Winter - it's time you leave
I am Spring - get out of my way

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rest easy tonight
Know you've done your best today
A new day awaits
NaPoWriMo 2015 Day 5
I love Easter for many reasons.  It's all about new beginnings and it's perfect at the start of Spring.
I spent my day with family and just tried to be in the moment.
So no work and no emails and no poem today!
I wish you and your family a Happy Easter!
NaPoWriMo 2015 Day 4
Tomorrow is Easter - the whole world is happy!
On a quiet evening
In early spring
The moon is full
And my heart sings
Winter's finally
Breathed it's last
Warmer days
Are are coming fast
We laugh and dance
All night and day
It's springtime now
Let's go and play
Time stands still it seems
Though many years have passed by
Joy is seeing you!
NaPoWriMo 2015 Day 2
I have a friend who's going through a tough time and I gave him the best gift I have tonight - a few hours of my time.  Even though I was tired, I listened and we shared some childhood memories. Then we laughed for a while and even cried.  We can't  fix everything, but sometimes we can just be there.
The pain is deep and now you're stuck
You think that you've run out of luck
It hurts you now the pain is bad
And every day seems really sad
You think that time will help you heal
But for a time you just can't feel
I'll listen now while you vent
And know that this was time well spent
NaPoWriMo 2015 Day 1
Time for a warm-up Haiku. Warm-up being the key word.  Spring arrives every year and we have no reason to think it won't this year but it's taking it's sweet time.  So perhaps a little nudge.......
Yay April is here!
Yet it's still really cold
Spring We need you now!
National Poetry Writing Month 2015
Well, tomorrow is April 1st - my favorite month of  the year.  It's also the start of National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo)!
I'll confess that I had no intention of participating this year and it took me a while to even find my blog.  I have friends who've joined and group participation keeps you motivated.
The rules are simple attach your blog to the NaPoWriMo site and write a poem every day for the month.  There are prompts to help and you can use them or not - I usually need some warm up time and like to start with a Haiku.  Then I do the brave thing and link it to my Facebook page.
So here I am again - just Under the Wire!
Here is the link if you'd like to join me http://www.napowrimo.net/
